Many soap makers use 3 main oils as the base for their recipes; olive, coconut and palm. 

- Olive oil is gentle, cleansing and moisturizing and provides vitamins and fatty acids that are essential for nourishing the skin.

- Coconut oil creates a harder bar and wonderful lather while also being super cleansing.

- insight soap recognizes that palm oil has been surrounded by controversy over deforestation, global temperature acceleration and threats to numerous endangered species that call the rainforest their home. Since palm oil is used in many food we consume and products we use, the impact it has on the environment is huge. Instead of palm oil, insight is proud to use babassu oil in all of our handmade soap recipes.

What is babassu oil?

Babassu oil is made from the seeds of the babassu palm which is native to South America. It is a sustainable, environmentally responsible substitute for palm oil, high in antioxidants and lauric acid creating an intensely moisturizing, hydrating and long lasting bar of soap.
